The Bat Project, site-specific installation/performance in two cities: Warsaw then Vilnius  Process of realisation:

1. The map of the first city (Warsaw) is marked with 27 numbered dots.

2. Found environmental sounds are recorded in city locations corresponding with the 27 numbered coordinates marked on the map. These sounds are about one minute long and are captured in non-manipulated field recordings. Later each of the 27 recordings is burned onto a separate CD with a label indicating its number (corresponding with the number on the map) and the credits of the project information.

3. The map of the second city (Vilnius) is marked with 27 numbered dots in the same combination as the previous map.

4. CDs with the sounds from the first city are brought and placed in locations that precisely correspond to the dots marked on the second map. This placing of the CDs could be called cd dropping, because after the drop the CD is not monitored anymore.  The Bat Project can be displayed in a number of ways — to suit the context of a particular exhibition.

During the process of discussing the possible realisation of The Bat Project in the 3xpozicija.lt exhibition, I was in communication with the web-blog community and we developed the idea of producing the aforementioned schema: a CD with a picture of the 27 numbered dots is produced and put in the special case that consists from three parts. The CD would be put in the centre and the maps of the two cities would be printed on the side parts of the case. This special edition release would hang in the exhibiting gallery - identifying it as the location of dot no.1 in the map of the second city.
